David Williams

David began his long career in life assurance and pensions when he joined Sun Life Assurance Society in 1965 at their branch office in his native Manchester.  Fourteen years later he took up the post of Branch Superintendent at the Society’s offices in Hull.

In 1983 he transferred to the newly formed Pensions Servicing Unit based in Leeds to head the administration team.  Following a re-organisation of the company’s branch network David assumed the role of Office Manager at one of the two Leeds sales branches.

Following the merger of Sun Life and AXA Equity & Law, David continued in an administrative role with the newly formed company, known simply as AXA.

After almost 42 years continuous service David retired from AXA in March 2007 and brought his considerable experience to Hirst and Company in April that year.
